Register Other Travel

This section is for Ohio State students traveling on international academic or co-curricular programs that are not administered by the Office of International Affairs (OIA). Global Education programs administered by OIA are those programs for which students apply and are admitted directly through OIA.

Six weeks prior to departure, students engaging in Non-OIA administered travel should register their travel to:

Complete university protocol for international travel, including potential completion of the approval process for travel to a risk-designated country.
Identify and register your travel in one of the three blocks below.
Confirm your enrollment in the supplemental international health & security insurance.
Register in The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP).
Receive additional health and safety information to prepare for their travel.

Students admitted to an OIA education abroad program are automatically registered and do not need to complete this process.

OSU-Affiliated Group Travel

This application is intended for students participating in non-OIA group academic or co-curricular international travel that is coordinated by a department, unit (e.g. Student Life, Athletics, etc.), faculty or staff member.

OSU-Affiliated Individual Travel

This application is intended for students participating in non-OIA individual academic or co-curricular international travel that is supported by the university. Support includes travel funded by a scholarship or grant awarded or disbursed through the university and/or direct graded OSU course or research credit.

Unaffiliated Individual Travel

This application is intended for students participating in individual academic or co-curricular international travel that is not sponsored, managed or supported by university funding or assigned credit.
